It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stanley Hyshka on December 20, 2018 at the Roblin Hospital.

Stanley was born in Whitelaw, Alberta on May 29, 1928 to Emil and Mary Hyshka. He grew up on the family farm with 3 brothers and 1 sister.

As a child Stan loved nature and playing with his brothers and sister. As he grew, his interest changed to camping and playing card games with family and friends. His greatest joy in life was fishing, whether it was standing on the bank casting or sitting in his fish hut on the ice no matter the temperature.  Stanley's hobby was woodworking, he loved to build picnic tables and birdhouses.  Stan was a friend to many, he had a ready smile, a joke and a sincere handshake for everyone he met.

Stanley Hyshka married Doris Holunga on September 30, 1950. Together they raised one daughter Valerie and two sons Rodney and Jason.  Stanley was extremely proud of his children.

Stanley worked for Sears in his early years repairing TV’s and appliances.  As his family grew so did his work ethic, he purchased different properties around Roblin and became a landlord.  Which in turn made him a “jack of all trades”.

Stanley is lovingly remembered by his daughter Valerie (Carther), sons Rodney (Betty-Ann) and Jason (Sherry) and 5 grandchildren, Darin, Carmelle, Jordan, Caitlyn, and Swade, and 7 great grandchildren Skyla, Harland, Carmindy, Carther, Aria, Norah, and one expected soon. Also surviving Stanley are numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley was predeceased by his wife Doris Hyshka the love of his life, his parents Emil & Mary Hyshka and sister Alice and brothers Joseph, Norman and Michael.

The family is comforted by the knowledge that Stanley is resting in the presence and peace of our Lord Jesus.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Evangelical Mission Church with Pastor Floyd Martens officiating and Pastor Randy Moffit hosting.  Interment followed in the Roblin Cemetery.
