Raymond Leroy Funk was born on August 3, 1932 to Jacob and Elizabeth Funk of Boggy Creek, Manitoba. He worked on the farm till he was 17 years old. Left home to become an Electrician. He started out in The Pas, Manitoba where he started NorthWest Electric with Mickey Johnson. It was there that he met Helen. In 1966, they expanded the company to Thompson, Manitoba. He retired in 1990. In retirement, he spent the winters in Scottsdale, AZ and the summers at the Cabin at Paint Lake, MB. He also loved his vacations in his favorite spot, Hawaii. He like fishing, hunting and the outdoors. In 2018, he and Helen moved to Mission, BC where it was warmer and to spend more time with his family (Martin, Heather, Ken).
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Helen, his children Dolores (Ken), Ken (Rose), Heather (Glenn) Martin (Bev). Grandchildren Logan (Sadaf), Ethan, Erik (Ashleigh) Isak, Connor, Zachery and Joshua.
The funeral was held on November 30, 2019 at 2:00 at NairnChyz-Wolkowski Funeral Home in Roblin, Manitoba. Memorial donations can be made to (Christine Morrison Hospice) Mission Memorial Hospital, 3rd floor, 7324 Hurd Street, Mission, BC V2V 3H5 or to a charity of your choice.
