Over the past years, Marion, had her share of health concerns but she continually fought through them with her positive attitude. Sadly, Marion passed away at the age of 73. Marion attended Rose Ridge School and then attended high school in Grandview, Manitoba. Once she graduated she commenced work as a telephone operator. She had a short career in this field as she and Sid acquired the family farm and they ran the operation for 58 years. Together they achieved the recognition of the Manitoba Century Farm Award.
Throughout Marion’s life she enjoyed many pass times. These included such things as dancing, gardening (helping Sid with his tomatoes), refinishing antique projects, tending to her flowers, curling, baseball, knitting and crocheting, even horseshoes. However, of all those pass times her most cherished moments were spending time with her family and friends. These moments could have been large events such as Christmas gatherings, or just short visits from her grandchildren, or simply Sunday drives and “crop scouting” with her friends. (You know who your are…..)
Marion is survived by her loving husband, Sid of 55 years. They were married in Roblin, Manitoba on October 17, 1964. Marion is also lovingly remembered by her daughter Lisa and husband Brian, and her daughter Joanna and husband Clinton. Her four grandchildren: Shaelyn, Jacey, Carston and Cole all have special memories of their time with Grandma and will cherish those moments.
Marion was predeceased by her father Stanley Matskiw, mother Elsie Matskiw (Bartkiw), sister Nellie Anderson (Matskiw), and nephew Dale Anderson.
Always loved, Never forgotten, Forever missed.
