Chernesky, Steve, November 19, 1932 - June 18, 2018, aged 85 years was born in the R.M. of Shell River. He was one of five children born to Mike and Lena Chernesky.
Steve spent his early years working on the farm with his family. Steve spent sometime in Alberta painting houses plus time with his brother Paul and his wife Iris. Steve was a bartender for his Uncle John Chernesky’s pool hall in Roblin. Steve would spend many hours in the pool hall perfecting his skills of the game with his brother Orest (Oily) and was given the nickname Sharky. His last 10 years of employment was stacking lumber at Forest Products with his older brother Bill. He retired at the age of 55. Then he trapped and sold his wears in Winnipeg. His past time was hunting and fishing.
Steve loved spending time with father and his brothers Orest and Bill. Chatting it up and listening to Ukrainian and country music. What a bond they had! Steve never married nor had any children. Steve left behind his Aunt Rose Mymko, his niece Tammy and family, and cousins.
Steve has joined family members: Mother Lena, Father Mike, brothers Paul, Orest, and Bill, sister Anne and many others at the supper table in Heaven.
Steve was a pillar of the Roblin community and will be dearly missed!
