Lawrence Peter Popoff

1947 – 2017


Lawrence Popoff passed away suddenly at his home on August 17, 2017 at the age of 69 years.

Lawrence leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 25 years, Sheila Popoff of Roblin; his daughters, Shauna (Ervin) Bueckert, Holly Bernard and Crystal (Chris) Siewert, all of Winnipeg; his sons, James Popoff, Sheldon Popoff and Chris (Andrea) Popoff, all of Winnipeg; his step-sons Douglas Kocian of Brandon and Ronald Aubin and his sister-in-law Sharron Popoff of Roblin.  Lawrence will also be sadly missed by his four grandchildren, his nieces, nephews and other extended family as well as many friends.

Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Millie and Peter Popoff; his first wife, Anne Popoff; his brother Nick Popoff; his mother-in-law Pauline Pomieto; his sister-in-law Frances Pomieto; his brothers-in-law, James and George Orr; his step-son Danny Frank and his niece Stacy Orr.

Lawrence’s funeral service was held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Moffit officiating.  Processional music was “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.  The pianist, Mrs. Laurie Moffit led the congregational hymn, “Amazing Grace”.  Flower bearers were James and Sheldon Popoff.

The Urn Bearer, Holly Bernard carried Lawrence to his final resting place beside his first wife Anne in Roblin District Cemetery.

Following the interment service, a memorial reception was held at the Roblin 50 and Over Club.

A friend a soul mate, a father, grandfather and great grandfather.  We will forever miss your smile and kind heart.  We know you are in a better place, where you always wanted to be- right beside your wife Anne and united with your family.  No more pain, no more heart ache…
