Harold FatteicherDecember 17, 2017
Fatteicher, Harold Ernest, November 10, 1923 – December 17, 2017, aged 94 years was born on the family homestead in the Clova District of Saskatchewan. Harold was the second son of European immigrants Henry and Eleanora (nee Mueller) Fatteicher. Harold was raised and worked on the family farm and received his education at Clova school. On June 25, 1953 he was united in marriage to Jean Kauk. They started their own homestead ¾ of a mile south of the family homestead. Together they worked and raised five sons. Harold continued to reside at his homestead until moving to the Centennial Special Care Home in Langenburg, Saskatchewan in the fall of 2015. He was taken to Esterhazy Hospital on Sunday, December 10 and passed away there on Sunday, December 17 at the age of 94 years.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory five children; Lawrence (Deb), Harley (Laurel), Marlin, Melvin (Valerie), and Eldon; as well as ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister Irma (Fred) Baumung; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Harold is predeceased by his wife Jean; his parents; brothers Richard and his wife Helen, Elmer and his wife Irene; two sisters in infancy Sylvia and Juanita; and a daughter-in-law Edith.
Funeral Service was held Thursday, December 21, 2017 from Zorra Grace Lutheran Church, Zorra District, Saskatchewan, with Pastor Barry Wood officiating. Interment followed at the Zorra Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Those who so wish, may make memorial contributions to the Zorra Grace Lutheran Church and Cemetery Fund as token of remembrance.
