Elaine Frances Delorme (nee McKay)July 29, 1964 ~ April 2, 2017 (age 52)
In Loving Memory of
Elaine Frances Delorme
1964 – 2017
Elaine Frances Delorme (nee McKay) passed away peacefully in her home in Roblin, Manitoba on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 52 years.
Frances was born at Roblin, Manitoba on July 29, 1964. She was a daughter of Gordon and Lois (nee Ludwig) McKay.
The family would move several times, to and from Lynn Lake, Winnipeg, Marchwell, Hudson Bay, Saskatoon, Chetwynd and North Battleford.
Frances received her education in Winnipeg. Later in life, she upgraded her education at North Battleford.
Frances met Russel Delorme along the way, and they were married a few years later in Cando, Saskatchewan. This is where they raised their seven wonderful children. They also raised chickens, all while both working full time in Battleford.
Years later, the family moved to Chetwynd, BC. They worked for several years in Chetwynd, where they enjoyed fishing and camping in the mountains. Frances later moved back to Saskatchewan, and eventually she moved to Roblin on her own.
Frances enjoyed doing native crafts, tanning hides, and doing bead work. She loved walking around town and going down to the lake to watch the geese come in for the spring. Frances loved spring because it meant that she could start preparing for gardening and camping.
Frances was predeceased by her father Gordon McKay; her sons, Peter McKay, Steven McKay and Pius Delorme; and her brother, Douglas McKay.
She is survived by her children, Terry Delorme, Troy Delorme, Cory McKay, Michael Delorme, Fawn Delorme and Vernon Trottier, her mother Lois McKay; her sisters, Angela (Travis) Micha and Candace (Colin) Schmidt and her brother Lowen McKay. She will also be missed by her ten grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
The Funeral Service was held on Friday, April 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home in Roblin with Mrs. Grace Skomorowski officiating.
Frances was laid to rest at Zorra-Gartmore Cemetery with her father Gordon McKay and brother Douglas McKay. Following the Interment Service, a reception was held at the Roblin 50 and Over Club.
