STECIUK, Alec Peter born August 15, 1923 – and entered into eternal rest on September 19, 2017 aged 94 years at the Roblin Personal Care Home. Alec was born to Peter and Annie (nee Krutz) on a farm near Amsterdam, SK. He was the youngest of nine siblings, through the years he entertained his family members with many happy stories of his childhood.
Alec married Doreen Clarentzius on June 12, 1952 in Preeceville, Sk., together they lived on a farm near Endeavour. At that time Alec made his living driving truck and farming. In 1967, he moved his family to Roblin where he worked at the Parkway Co-op driving fuel truck. In 1968, he purchased a farm in Cromarty where he farmed, drove school bus and worked as a school bus mechanic from 1970-1992. He continued to farm along side his son after retiring from the school bus. In 2015, he moved into Roblin Residence and later in 2016, moved to Roblin Personal Care where he resided till his passing.
Alec will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing his passion for restoring antique tractors, and his fondness for a good auction sale. Alec liked trips to Yorkton to play Bingo and the Casino where he often had a lot of luck. More than anything Alec will be remembered for his love of his family.
Left to mourn and cherish many fond memories are his children Loraine (Spud) their children; Dave (April), Curtis (Deanna), Randy (Meghan), Jennifer (Mike). Stan (Lydia) their children; Jordy (Tara) and Jason. Carol (Dean) their children; Dustin and Chelsey (Jeremy). Alec will also be missed by twelve great- grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Alec was predeceased by his wife Doreen in 2008, brother’s John, Mike, Bill, Fred, Steve and sister’s Mary, Pauline and Stella.
Funeral Service was held on September 23, 2017 from the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz-Wolkowski Funeral Service, Roblin, with Pastor Randy Moffit officiating. Alec was laid to rest in the Roblin and District Cemetery along with his beloved wife, Doreen.
